Pallavi Chumki Barua

Pallavi Chumki Barua is a film producer, legal practitioner, social activist, spirited venturist, philanthropist and a food connoisseur. A first class Law graduate from I.L.S Law College Pune with a Master’s degree from the University of London. As a student she had assisted in drafting the bill on “Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace” which later became an Act in April 2013.
Pallavi has also received an Award for Outstanding Contribution to Society and has also appeared on National Television & local radio channels as panellist for discussions on women issues.
While as a profession she practices LAW through her Law firm PCB Legalis, she also passionately engages with the world of Cinema and Theatre. She has acted in plays and over the years has been actively associated with the theatre scene in Guwahati. Rishang- The Warrior of Love, was the first feature film under her production banner named as Ruby Visions which had won the Most Popular Film Award in 2012 at the Prag Cine Awards. She has produced a star studded English play “True & False” in 2018 and has produced short films “The 8th Note” and the award-winning “Password”.
After her husband’s death in 2017, she took the reign of her husband’s construction firm named M/s Frontier Engineering, which is one of the oldest construction firm in Assam founded in 1959.
Her aspiration towards making a better society and fulfilling the dreams of her beloved late husband has led her to build a Trust by the name of Bob Barua Benefaction. She is actively engaged with this trust and continues all her philanthropic activities via this.
Pallavi is considered to be an inspiration to many women and her win out attitude has always been one of the key factors to make her what she is.
